Just curious, does anyone think Shapiro would want Juan back at ANY price?...even for just one year?

Interesting question. I'd say that the only way this would happen is if Shapiro had done everything he could to build for the future with regard to signing other players, and there was still money left in the budget (re: the $80 million cap). Since none of us knows what the actual committed payroll is for 2002 (unless someone has information I don't know about), it's difficult to answer this question more definitively.

Juan will never wear a Tribe uniform again. Period. What a stud he would be in this season's lineup. Too bad Dolan isn't interested in putting a winner on the field or he would pay Juan out of his own pocket like he claims he did last year.

Teach, I think team payroll is a valid sidebar, but in the sense of what is Juan Worth to Shapiro...is it possible that they don't want him back at ANY PRICE!
If that is the case, WOW!

Alex unless you have a blindfold on it is quite clear (crystal in fact) that Juan isn't wanted back at any price. Go figure????
